Beaudry Fall Classic

The Beaudry Fall Classic is a timed-loop trail race held at Beaudry Provincial Park, just west of Winnipeg, Manitoba in October, this year falling October 1-3.

Each loop is about 5.1 km and participants can sign up for 6, 12, 24 & 48-hour solo options.

  • Cost – Please take note of what is included prior to registering as well as the refund policy. Registration takes place via UltraSignup and an UltraSignup fee will be added at check out. Registration will be open as per the dates below, or until we’ve reached the cap of 100 registrants.

  • Refund Policy **Please take this into consideration before registering.
    • There are NO REFUNDS, NO BIB TRANSFERS and NO TIME CHANGES regardless of the reason for dropping from the race or cancellation due to COVID-19 or any other factors. Many of the costs for this event are incurred well before the event takes place. If cancellation occurs after registration has opened, there would be a move to move Beaudry to a virtual event. If you are uneasy with this policy, please do not register.
    • UPDATE 09/03: **READ BEFORE REGISTERING**
      • Registration will open on Saturday, September 4th at 8:00 AM. That said, we are still in a tenuous space in regard to COVID 19, as such, please make sure you are familiar with the refund policy and the potential that an in-person event could be cancelled last minute, at which point a “virtual” event would be held. Additionally, changes could be made to the Public Health Order between now and race day that could impact yourself/crew/pacers/family and access to the race site. If you are uncomfortable with any of this, please don’t register. I totally understand. Entry Includes
  • Beaudry Fall Classic patch & mug or glass for all participants.
  • Personalized bib for all those who register prior to September 11.
  • Supported aid station at the start/finish as well as space for personal gear & tent set-up. (**See Aid Station section below for more details.)
  • Full-time, on-site certified first aid support available throughout the event. Be prepared with your own supplies and taking care of your own minor blisters, cuts, kinesio tape application, chafing management, as required.
  • Accomplishment Awards – Participants will receive accomplishment awards for reaching 50k, 100k, 100 miles, 150 miles, or 200 miles. One award for furthest accomplishment achieved. And yes, for 100 mile+ we’re talking buckle.

**Note that there will be no winner prizing. While there will be people who finish 1st, this event is primarily about pushing your limits and individual achievement.

Site Map

Please consult the site map for details of the main area that will be used for timing, aid stations and gear storage. Tents can be set up for 24 & 48-hour participants. 6 & 12 hour participants will have space for gear, but make sure your gear is weather proof as we will not be setting up any tents for participant gear.

Route & Distances

The route will bring you through beautiful forest, much of which is along the Assiniboine River. Each loop will be approximately 5.1 km or 3.16 miles. To meet the distance goals, recognizing that people will do extra distance or less depending how you run the loop and how much walking you do in the transition area, you need to complete the following number of loops.

  • 50k = 10 Loops
  • 100k = 20 Loops
  • 100 mi = 32 Loops
  • 150 mi = 47 Loops
  • 200 mi = 63 Loops
Timing

We will use the UltraSignup timing app for this event and there will be no live tracking. Results will be posted on UltraSignUp a few days following the event.

After each loop your time will be recorded, please ensure that the timer has noted that you’ve come through the timing area.

Cutting the course or cheating of any kind will not be tolerated.

Aid Stations

Participants of the 24 & 48 hour events can expect ramen noodles, broth, perogies and cheese quesadillas for hot food. Volunteers will also be available to use the stove or boil water for you in the “kitchen tent” if need be. Anything beyond that should be brought in on your own, and stored in your own aid station area.

Those participating in the 6 & 12 hour events will have a separate aid station area and can expect standard fare such as chips, candy and water. Feel free to bring whatever additional food & drink you may want.

Steps will be taken to ensure that food is handled and provided in a way that is safe and conforms to COVID-19 protocols.

Drop Bags – All participants will have a designated area for their stuff. Amount of space provided will be larger for those in the longer timed events.

Crew – Family, friends and crew are allowed to help you through the aid stations, though we ask the you limit the number of people who support you as they count toward the total number on site for capacity limits. Additionally, we ask that they don’t get in the way of timers or aid station volunteers.

Pacers – Pacers are allowed for the final half of the 24 & 48 hour events. They are, however, to be self-sufficient. Food at the aid stations is for racers only.

Cup Free Race – At the aid stations, there will be beverages available that you may not want to put in your bottles/hydration bladder. If this is the case, please bring your own cup as we are a cup-free race.

Finishing Your Event

If you are done before the time of you event is complete, you must communicate clearly to the timers that you are finished. Please don’t got home without letting someone know. This must be done at the timing station. No one is coming along the trail to pick you up.

Emergencies

On the trail, you are responsible for you! Please make sure you have enough fluids,  proper gear, appropriate first aid, and know how to use it. If you see someone in trouble, please provide help.
